The Coach Houses

The Coach Houses are part of a listed building situated at the edge of a working farm. They were originally the stables for the Clydesdale horses that worked on the farm in a bygone era prior to the introduction of the tractor. With their stunning outlook we decided that they would be ideal for converting into luxury self catered holiday homes.

Building works to the property were started in 2007 and construction was completed in 2008. Each Coach House benefits from all the advantages of modern construction with well insulated walls, roofs and floors, double glazing and full central heating ensuring that you have a very comfortable stay.

The architecture and facilities of St. Andrews Coach Houses are a fusion of tradition with contemporary comfort- relax and enjoy the Egyptian cotton sheets, fabulously comfortable beds, fluffy towels and comfy leather sofas.

Enjoy the best quality amenities in the luxury, privacy and intimacy of a country cottage atmosphere. The Coach Houses have been designed as spacious luxury accommodation with Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels and comfy leather sofas. I

This was truly 5 star self catering-the best I have experienced in Scotland

This was truly 5 star self catering-the best I have experienced in Scotland. Your attention to important detail and all the lovely extra touches really make it very special .We recently stayed in an award winning self catering elsewhere in Scotland. This was also a lovely experience but you would have nothing to learn from them or indeed many of the Rural Retreats properties we have stayed in over the years. I think your hospitality would outshine them all!  The Watkins Family, Glasgow

First class self catering property with all the touches of a 5 luxury star hotel

I have stayed in various self catering houses near and far but the coachhouse in St Andrews was amazing, it is a first class self catering property with all the touches of a 5 luxury star hotel! The set up was excellent, open plan kitchen / sitting room allowing you to not miss out on anything while cooking.
Maggie, the joint owner of the property has "classy taste", everything matching / co-ordination, a really nice welcoming person. The beds were really comfy with lovely cosy duvets, and the bed linen was just luxurious! The house had excellent power showers and then there was another treat in store, to wrap yourself in the luxurious towels!
We will be be back hopefully in the not too distant future. Mr and Mrs McKenna, Glasgow

The Coach Houses are so stylish

We enjoyed our stay immensely and will recommend you to our friends and family. The Coach Houses are so stylish. You deserve to do well as you have really stood in the shoes of your guests; its so obvious that you have provided what you would have expected yourself. I have left a review on Trip Advisor, although I would much rather keep you to myself! The Barnes Family, Buckinghamshire

This wee gem beats them all!

We have stayed in many self catering properties in Fife and worldwide but this wee gem beats them all! The attention to detail combined with the location, warm family welcome and five star facilities make this excellent value. The Byars Family, Basel, Switzerland.

A real luxury find-wont stay a secret for long!

The property was amazing, it was like an first class self catering property with all the touches of a 5 star hotel. The area is ideal for us, its on a real working farm with the cattle and a magnificent horse in the field directly infront of the property. We cant wait to come back, we felt like more friends of the family rather than paying guests. This is a gem you just wont want to miss-we loved it! The Bickers Family, Glasgow

You dont know what your missing!! Go and find out.

From the moment we arrived we were very impressed. The  house inside and out was immaculate, decorated with top of the range furnishings, everything you could need and then some! The view was as good as the house, very private and relaxing. Maggie the owner was excellent, this is one lady with taste!! You dont know what your missing!! Go and find out. The Russell Family,Glasgow.

We usually stay in the Fairmont... I would say that my preference would now be staying at the Coach Houses

We have just returned from a week in one of the fabulous coach houses... we were there with our 10 year old daughter and her friend. Prior to booking I wasn't too sure about the location of the property or indeed whether our daughter might miss having a pool on sight... I needn't have worried... the 2 girls loved the idea of being on a farm and spent many hours over by the fields infront of the accomodation watching the cows and the lovely horse!!! They also loved the indoor barn that provides a basketball hoop, table tennis and a pool table... however, there is also a couple of giant haystacks there that they loved jumping and climbing onto!!! As many other people have commented on, the standard of accomodation is luxurious ,very contemporary, but also very relaxing. The friendliness of the family that own and live on the property is just right, We often visit St Andrews and usually stay in the Fairmont... I would say that my preference would now be staying at the Coach Houses. We are already talking about when we can return and I will be telling all my friends about this lovely place. The Armit Family, Glasgow

Perfection

The Coachhouses were absolute perfection for our entire family. For us as parents the standard of the accommodation was exceptional - beautiful sheets/towels, power shower, great beds, nice layout, tastefully decorated, well equipped and so clean! Every detail had been thought of so it made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. Our children also loved staying on a farm and the large grass area was great for our little one to play safely outside. The location is stunning. The silence and views make you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere yet you are only 5 mins from St. Andrew's and a few minutes from many other local sites/towns. The hosts were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit! We would highly recommend this place. The Mcauley Family, Northern Ireland.

We enjoyed it so much that we will be back within the near future

We have just returned from a week at St Andrew's Coach Houses. The accommodation was contemporary and comfortable, very clean. The houses sit on farmland and the view from the large french windows extends across open countryside for miles, absolutely breathtaking scenery.
The family who own the accommodation are helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, whether a recommendation for a restaurant or an activity. There is also a barn which has been converted into s super games room, this kept the little one and the big kids amused for long periods of time. A fantastic service.
We enjoyed it so much that we will be back within the near future. The Patrick Family, Milngavie

Felt like you were staying at a friend's place in the country - a friend with great taste!

From the superb location, to the contemporary decor, to the warm and welcoming owners, our week at the St. Andrews Coach Houses couldn't have been better. Attention to detail was obvious everywhere in the accommodation. There are great beds, bedding and towels, but it was the smaller, personal touches that made this property seem less like a vacation rental and more like you were staying at a friend's place in the country - a friend with great taste! As other people have mentioned, Maggie and John couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - really genial hosts. The Pirie Family, Aberdeen

 Fabulous!

Fabulous! We loved it here- beautiful house with everything we needed! You have created a gorgeous place. Thank you very, very much. The Stonor Family, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The accommodation is a real touch of class with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel but without the attitude!

We found this little gem on the internet and it looked good but in every respect it exceeded our expectations. The accommodation is a real touch of class with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel but without the attitude! Maggie and John Picken who own the coachhouses and the adjacent farm gave us a womderful welcome and we wanted for nothing. St Andrews and the surrounding villages speak for themselves but it was this experience in the coachhouses and the family Picken that really helped make our holiday. Mr Wattie, Edinburgh.

We couldn't recommend the Coach Houses more highly and give it 6 Stars

We couldn't believe our luck when we booked The Coach Houses on our last trip to St Andrews. A luxury self catering converted stable block appointed to such high standards, we wanted for nothing. A hamper of packed full of Scottish breakfast goodies greeted us on arrival, the Coach House was warm and welcoming. The interior was appointed to the highest of standards, state of the art bathrooms and gorgeous comfortable beds with 600 count egyptian cotton. Beautiful open lounge area with great views completed this wonderful retreat. We couldn't recommend the Coach Houses more highly, give it 6 Stars and have already booked our next visit. Ms McHardy,Edinburgh.

An oasis of luxury in Fife

Beautiful coach houses-sumptious duvets and towels. The beds were particularly comfortable with crisp white linen.  An oasis of luxury in Fife. So lucky that we found you, we will be back. The Russell Family,Helensburgh.

Easily the best self-catering I've been to in years

This is a great self-catering find. The coach houses are outfitted to the highest standards, extremely comfortable, everything you need is provided, right down to the welcome basket, and the location & view is superb.  Maggie and John have spared no effort to make the Coach Houses a top-notch destination, and will make you very welcome. Easily the best self-catering I've been to in years. Ms Rainey, Middlesex
