Early Evening Jazz
Spice up your Sunday with an early evening of live Jazz music at Mitchell’s St Andrews on the 10th September from 6pm until 8pm. Sunday evening does not have to be dull and full of trepidation for the week ahead; head out to Mitchell’s and really liven things up. Mitchell’s offer a range of delicious food and drink so you can enjoy a snack from the deli which serves locally sources, season produce all year round. Mitchell’s are a purveyor of fine wine so they will have your perfect glass while you enjoy the sounds of the live music serenading your September Sunday.
The Night Market
September marks the last evening that the Nigh Market will visit St Andrews until the Christmas market in December. Don’t miss this last chance until then to enjoy live music under the new veranda for an evening out with friends. Grab a specially selected wine, beer or spirit to wash down the many delectable street food options available and enjoy a night out-out at the Night Market on September the 19th from 5pm till 9pm.
Just Beatles at the Byre Theatre
Scotland’s finest Beatles tribute act, Just Beatles, have proven them to be amongst the greatest tribute acts around. They have graced theatres all over the country as well as performing at Beatles festivals all over the UK and Europe, including the world famous Liverpool Beatle week. On the 23rd September, Just Beatles are performing at the Byre Theatre and it promises to be a night to remember. If you are a Beatles fan then this is a must-see as Just Beatles use authentic equipment and instruments to emulate the world-renowned band as closely as possible. Get your tickets fast as it is sure to be a sell-out event.
The Guardian of Scotland
On Sunday 24th September, St Andrews Castle is the place to be. Take the kids to join Bishop Lamberton and his small army of medieval soldiers at the castle to hear all about the story of how St Andrews castle swapped hands during the Wars of Independence. Bishop Lamberton will regale the events with his soldiers on hand in full armour. Once the talk is over take some time to explore the castle and imagine what it would have been like it’s in former glory days.
Tom Morris- The St Andrews Years
For all you golf fanatics, the British Golf Museum is holding another of their regular lectures with guest speaker Tom Morris on the 28th September at 7pm. Arrive at the roof-top café overlooking the links where refreshments will be available as you listen to Tom discuss the St Andrews Years as he recalls them. Tickets are free but it is advised to book in advance.
